I’m an artist from Lansing, MI and I put the “art” in cartoons.

I think of cartooning as a way of simplifying life to bring out the character, emotions and stories we see and feel on a daily basis. There is beauty in taking something complex and making it easy to understand. Taking something plain and making it burst with color. Taking something mundane and making it fantastical.

These concepts, along with the fundamentals of drawing, are what I love teaching to children. Just like my own two children, I want them to know there is no one type of art or artist. Art is all around us and our world needs creative thinkers and problem solvers.
